Know Before the Show
Sailfish buyers know a good boat when they see one.
Center- and Dual-Console lovers know about all the Sailfish advantages: the VDS (Variable Degree Stepped) hull; deep, safe, comfortable and ergonomic cockpits; the Sailtech construction process that unites science and material with a human touch .
So what can you expect from the 2022 round of boat shows and the Sailfish model lineup?
According to Jon Bartels, North American Sales Manager for Sailfish Boats, “The first thing you really should understand is the touch and feel - and the overall size - of our boats. We have bigger, deeper cockpits than you normally see, and that gives a solid introduction to how they are built.”
“You will see a lot of boats at shows in different size categories, but they're not all equal,” Jon adds. “A Sailfish boat will feel bigger than another brand of comparable size. Sailfish has an extra six inches of gunnel height, for example.”
That deep-gunnel feeling is the result of Sailfish’s unique VDS technology, which is on full display at boat shows. Standing outside the hull, you’ll see the variable-degree deadrise give way to a sharp vee entry, and the three ‘steps’ running athwartships at the hull’s surface. Standing inside the boat, you can imagine stability in high seas. The deeper cockpit that the stepped hull provides puts your center of gravity at your waist, and not at your knees.
We hear from owners about what they like or suggest we make better, and use that advice to make products that they will want and like and use forever. - Denny Warren, Sailfish Boats
“When you get inside one of our boats at a show, we will have a different conversation. Moving around, you’ll see and feel how functional the boat actually is, and you can envision using those hull features constantly,” Jon adds. For example, the higher gunnels of a Sailfish allow for deep bow seating. The bow rail will sit safely at chest level when you are seated, creating a more natural armrest position – a huge plus when you want to relax in the bow or feel safe and secure while cruising.
Sailfish considers the ‘voice of the customer’ to be pivotal. “We hear from owners about what they like or suggest we make better, and use that advice to make products that they will want and like and use forever,” says Denny Warren, Sales and Transportation Manager for Sailfish Boats. The 2022 model lineup features new hull accent updated upholstery colors, influenced by changing trends and composites in the industry.
“Boats, Sailfish boats especially, are simple in design. They have everything on them that you need. There are no tricky gizmos or flashy technologies that can cause issues down the road, and that's basically what our customers are asking for,” adds Denny.
